Functions of Council

The Council (NCAQS) has the primary function of protecting the public interest. Legislation provides a guideline for members of the profession and the public with regard to:

• The code of conduct that registered Architects and Quantity Surveyors must adhere to in the interaction with the public.
• The minimum scale of fees that registered Architects and Quantity Surveyors must use in the standard service they provide to the public.
• The Assessment of Professional Competence that establishes the route to registration as an Architect or Quantity Surveyor.
• The work that is reserved for registered Architects and Quantity Surveyors.
• The disciplinary procedures for registered Architects and Quantity Surveyors not adhering to the code of conduct.
